Our client is a leading national provider of industrial services to the petro chemical, refining, utility and pulp and paper industries. There are more than 2,500 employees in over 40 locations.
This position will report to the President and direct the human resources organization consisting of several direct reports: benefits, payroll, field reps, recruiting and employee relations and others. This position will be very “hands on” as well as spending a considerable amount of time in the field (30-35%) working with the field operations.
Focus will be on the following:
- Develop the overall people strategy
- Design a compensation strategy consistent with overall objectives.
- Manage all benefit plans.
- Develop plans to significantly reduce turnover of hourly field employees.
- Lead the recruitment effort of the company.
- Provide consulting and leadership to others in the organization in improving the overall performance of the workforce.
- Assist and consult with senior management relative to the human capital of the organization.
- Assist in due diligence of potential acquisitions.
- Provide effective leadership to the HR organization.
In additional to a college degree, candidates for this position need to have 12-15 years of progressively responsible human resource management experience. Experience in a number of the functional areas, as well as, being a key contributor to overall strategic planning. Candidates for this position need experience with multi-location field operations and heavy industrial settings.
