The HR Consultant will provide advice, guidance and technical support to UTMB Austin-area managers and employees regarding the full range of human resources functions—including performance management; new employee initialization, monitoring and evaluating training/consulting outcomes; administering and counseling employees on employee benefit plans to include but not limited to health, dental, life, AD&D, LTD, long-term care and retirement plans; maintenance of personnel and payroll records; recruitment; professional credentialing; and employee discipline. Successful candidate will also serve as the liaison between Austin and the main UTMB facility in Galveston.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and three or more years of FLSA-exempt level work experience in two of the following: employee relations, compensation/benefits or organizational development. HR generalist experience in an academic setting is a plus. Professional of Human Resources (PHR) certification is preferred, as is experience with PeopleSoft HCM.
